Tourism Authority of Thailand to Hold Amazing Thailand Countdown 2019 in Chiang Rai

CHIANG RAI – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) plans to hold Amazing Thailand Countdown 2019 in Chiang Rai, Nakhon Phanom, Ratchaburi, and Satun in addition to a grand event at Iconsiam in Bangkok.

TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn said the TAT has prepared many activities as New Year gifts to the general public, including the Amazing Thailand Countdown 2019 in Chiang Rai, Nakhon Phanom, Ratchaburi, and Satun in addition to the event at Iconsiam in Bangkok to draw more tourists.

The TAT will arrange Thailand Shopping & Dining Paradise in border provinces such as Tak, Sa Kaeo, Udon Thani, and Surin, as well as collaborate with TQM Insurance Broker to offer special New Year accident insurance packages to 100,000 first persons adding TQM INSURANCE BROKER OFFICIAL on LINE app via QR code appearing on TAT’s media.

The TAT governor said he is expecting tourism activities during 29 December 2018 – 1 January 2019 to generate some 17 billion baht in revenue from both domestic and foreign markets, marking an eight percent increase, with the number of foreign visitors projected by up to 520,000 and domestic travelers by 2.72 persons/trips.

The New Year festival in Bangkok is expected to attract about 222,100 Thai visitors.
