Phayao’s New Governor Leads Inspection after Suspicious Fire at Phayao Hospital

 

PHAYAO – Phayao’s New Governor Narongsak Osot-thanakorn has led an inspection of Phayao Hospital after a fire broke out on its fourth floor, which damaged one room and set off an investigation into the cause.

The governor was accompanied by the commander of the 34th Military Circle to inspect the damage after a fire on the fourth floor of Phayao Hospital.

They found that the hospital’s Health Assessment (HA) and research file room had been damaged by the fire with additional damage to the ceiling and walls of connecting rooms. Initial damage estimates have been placed at just over one million baht.

Due to the fire, hospital workers have been obligated to handle patient histories manually and effort is being focused on retrieving data from a damaged computer.

Repairs are to be done in one to two days and will include an assessment by the province’s civil engineering office. Police are investigating the cause of the fire and expect a conclusion soon.
