Thai Actress and National Artist Juree Osiri passed away of old age at her home in Chiang Rai province last night at the age of 83

Juree Osiri will be moved to Makutkasatariyaram Temple in Bangkok for the funeral rites.

Well Known respectfully as Pa Ju (aunty Ju) in the entertainment industry, Juree was an all round artist, singing, acting and doing voiceovers during the golden era of Thai films more than three decades ago. She was the voice of all leading actresses of that time including Petchara Chaowaraj, Pisamai Vilaisak, Paowana Chanachit, Naowarat Yuktanan and Lalana Sulawan – to name just a few.

Pa Ju received a number of awards and honours throughout her lifetime before being named National Artist in recognition of acting and voiceover works in 1998. In her later years, she contributed to the entertainment industry, setting an example to the young generation of artists in terms of discipline and determination to produce quality works. She was regarded as one of the most respected artists and admired by the younger generation.

Noppon is her son from her first marriage with Samer. After his death she remarried and lived happily for five decades with actor Somchai Samipak, who passed away on January 5, 2009.
