13 Members of the Wild Boar Academy to Visit Argentina and USA for Cultural Exchange Trip
CHIANG RAI – Deputy Government Spokesperson Lt. Gen. Weerachon Sukhondhapatipak has told Thai Media that an overseas trips is being undertaken by 13 members of the Wild Boar Academy football team as a cultural exchange.
The Deputy Government spokesperson said today the boys and their coach were invited to attend overseas events as a sports and cultural exchange. They will be attending the opening ceremony of the Youth Olympic Games in Argentina from October 4th to 9th. Their tickets and living expenses are being paid for by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
The IOC believes that their presence at the ceremony would motivate and teach youngsters about teamwork as well as physical and mental strength which helped them get through their ordeal inside a flooded cave.
Phayao Governor Narongsak Osotthanakorn will also travel to the United States to receive an Asia Game Changer award from the Asia Society Association for his leadership in overseeing the rescue mission in Chiang Rai. His airline ticket is being paid for by the organization.
The boys and their coach are also scheduled to visit Los Angeles to share their football experiences and Thai culture with young American football players.
