Oil and Gas

FieldAp contributes greatly in streamlining today’s oil and gas industries. It has revolutionized modern offshore engineering when it piloted the 3d platform that presupposes visual oil and gas field development.

Currently, about 80% of the primary energy carriers is comprised by hydrocarbon resources, which are involved in the economic turnover through the activities of the oil and gas industries. Under the industry we mean the totality of enterprises and organizations characterized by common functions performed in the system of the social division of labour or manufactured products.

Alongside with this, the oil and gas industries represent a set of businesses that offer exploration, construction of wells, extraction, transportation, processing, as well as realization of oil, gas, and products of their processing. These industries possess a number of distinctive features, which include the following:

-the technological complexity and close interrelation of different stages of production and resource use;

-independence in preparing the raw material base;

-high capital intensity and a high degree of risk of the investment;

-the intermittent nature of harvested resources and the ultimate limitations of the deposits which are the best as to their quality and location;

-orientation primarily on domestic resources in development;

-large scale and wide geographical placement of accumulations of oil and gas;

  • -dynamism;
  • -inertia;
  • -close links with all sectors of the economy.

In addition, one should mention the important role of the oil and gas sectors in ensuring economic independence, energy security and the possibility of using the fact of possession of the resource and production potential for solving international problems.

We can’t but admit that an intense struggle has begun between oil as a fuel and oil as a chemical raw material. Of course, currently and in the near future oil will be used mainly as a fuel. However, the share of oil consumed in chemical processing, is continuously increasing.

Besides, recently another possible consumer of oil has appeared. It is still a “baby”, and it consumes oil in small amounts. But how do we know? It is the microbiological processing of oil… proteins. Scientists have discovered bacteria that live well on oil consuming it in food. Thus, oil disappears, but the bacteria grow. A greater part of oil is gradually disappearing, and instead numerous bacterial cells are formed. They contain a lot of protein, which can be used as food. Currently, attempts are being made to grow such bacteria that would absorb only unnecessary impurities from oil. As a result microbiological refineries can be built, with fodder protein as their by-product.
