Amazon And Google's Search Are Doomed To AI, Says Bill Gates

(CTN News) – According to Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft, Google Search, Amazon, and Shopify that are currently used by millions of people will soon be out of date if AI continues to evolve at this rate in the future.

Gates says Amazon AI is already having a significant impact on future economies.

In San Francisco yesterday, the 67-year-old stated that if an AI tool could comprehend human thinking patterns, needs, and feelings, it might be possible to shift human behavior. He spoke as part of the AI Forward 2023 event hosted by Amazon Goldman Sachs and SV Angel.

In Gates’ words, you will never go back to a search engine, you will never go back to a productivity site, you won’t go back to Amazon ever again.” he said.

There is no doubt that Microsoft is leading the race to develop an AI that is powerful

In spite of the creativity and competition from AI startups across the US, the tech mogul remains confident that Microsoft can guide the creation of the yet-to-be-designed AI, as evidenced by its $10 billion investment in OpenAI’s ChatGPT platform.

In my opinion, it would be disappointing if Microsoft did not enter the market here. However, I am impressed with a few startups, including Inflection, which I think has a lot of potential.”

In spite of this, he said, companies will rush to embed ChatGPT-like features into their products so that they can meet customer demands until a powerful AI agent disrupts the Big Tech business models.

In addition to integrating Amazon ChatGPT with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, Microsoft is also integrating ChatGPT with PowerPoint.

A year ago, it introduced ChatGPT to its Bing search engine and Edge browser, giving it a competitive advantage over other search engines and browsers, including Google, Yahoo, Firefox, and Opera.

In any case, we are not too far from the technological singularity

It was Gates who warned that robots will take over blue-collar jobs in the not too distant future. Humanoids may result in industrial work becoming more efficient and cheaper for Amazon.

White-collar jobs are not immune to the threat of being replaced by Amazon’s generative AI, which produces accurate, quality, and persuasive text.

Earlier this year, Twitter’s CEO Elon Musk predicted that in less than five years, human comprehension could be overtaken by artificial intelligence.
