Mitsubishi Reveals the Next-Generation Pajero Sport in Thailand

 

The SUV sports the company’s new design language and comes with a “Dynamic Shield” front fascia. It has swept-back headlamps, LED daytime running lights, a grille with chrome slats and the Mitsubishi logo in middle.

There are C-shaped chrome inserts on either sides of the front air-intake and the bumper houses a pair of round fog lamps. The bonnet has many creases on it.On the sides, the Pajero Sport gets ORVMs with integrated turn indicators, side steps and wide wheel arches. The window line slopes upwards towards the rear.

At the rear, the car gets long, vertical tail lamp clusters, a chrome number plate garnish parking sensors and rear wiper.

On the inside, the Pajero gets a black dashboard with silver inserts, a touchscreen infotainment system, multifunction steering wheel, an electronic parking brake and three rows of black leather seats. Safety features include seven airbags, forward collision mitigation system, blind spot warning system, ultrasonic mis-acceleration mitigation system,

The Pajero Sport is powered by a 2.4L MIVEC turbo diesel engine, which is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Mitsubishi claims that this powertrain returns a 17-percent improvement in fuel economy over its predecessor. Power and torque figures have not been disclosed. The vehicle is equipped with a Super-Select 4WD-II four-wheel drive system that is complemented by the new off-road mode and hill descent control.

Sales of the 2016 Mitsubishi Pajero Sport will commence this fall in Thailand and shortly after that it will be available in Australia, the ASEAN countries, Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Russia, for a total of more than 90 countries.
