Chiangrai Times – Thailand’s best player Ratchanok Inthanon showed her hard-to-learn skills on court when she gave a severe lesson to her lower ranked opponent Thilini Jayasinghe of Sri Lanka in Women’s Singles Group M contest at the 2012 London Olympics on Sunday, July 29, in England.

The World Number 10 Ratchanok, who is ninth seed in Women’s Singles main draw of the mega event, delivered a solid performance as she ended up the battle in a dominating manner and sent a strong message to all top shuttlers in the tournament.

The higher ranked Thai shuttler was in tremendous position on court as she was smooth in her foot work and also troubled her rival by pushing her in all areas of the court.

Ratchanok easily won this Women’s Singles battle by ending it up in two games with a one-sided margin on score board.

On the other hand, the un-seeded Thilini was quite helpless against the power play of the Thai shuttler. She was quite vulnerable to the mighty Ratchanok and eventually knelt down in straight sets without showing a strong show.

In the first game, Ratchanok did not take much time in setting up a sensational lead on score board as she was on driving seat.

Until the end of first half, the higher ranked Thai shuttler was sailing quite smoothly on court while remaining miles ahead of her Sri Lankan rival on score board.

After the one-minute break, the in-form Ratchanok continued putting up staggering performance on court without showing any respect to her opponent and remained successful in bagging the first game with a stunning margin of 21-13.

In the second game, Thilini tried to show her class in opening rallies but she gave up fighting as her opponent was too strong in all aspects of the game.

The impressive Ratchanok remained on course as she did not let her opponent to narrow the difference on score board until the mid-game interval.

After the break, Ratchanok continued her roller-coaster performance and she thrashed Thilini by ending up the game with a superb 21- 5 score on the board.

The aggressive Ratchanok managed to end up this Women’s Singles battle in straight sets with a one-sided score of 21-13 and 21-5.
