Thai Military Warns Netizen Network Over Cyber Bill Protests

BANGKOK -Thailand’s Military Government spokesman Lt-Gen Sansern Kaewkamnerd on Sunday warned opponents against the Computer Crime Bill not to stage protests or they may face charge of stirring up unrest in the country.
The opponents associated with the Thai Netizen Network which has been campaigning against the bill from the start were reported to hold activities as a smybolic protest against the bill at the Democracy Monument and at Bangkok Art and Cultural Centre on Sunday.
Lt-Gen Sansern told the protesters to exercise restraint and to stop their planned activities, warning that the government had contingency plan to deal with them in case they defied the warning.
He charged that some of the protesters had crossed the line by plotting to incite unrest and assuming the role of hackers to hack into the government’s data bank.

The Cybre Bill was unanimously endorsed by the National Legislative Assembly on Friday showing that in Thai Military democrocy 168 votes easily defeats 350,000 votes.
The green shirts who promised to return happiness to the people handed it to themselves, and called it a New Year’s present that will never stop giving back.
The new Computer Crime Act (CCA 16) replaces that old, worn-out CCA 07. Sure, the old one put a lot of people in prison for a lot of years, but not enough and not long enough. Authorities had to go to court and stuff, and now they won’t have to do that very much. Continue Reading…..
