According to the authority, Vilaseca made off with some €2.5 million before fleeing to Southeast Asia seven years ago. Vilaseca has been hiding in Thailand and Laos, running several restaurants under a false identity.

He was arrested on Wednesday night (Oct 29) at Bangkok Suvanabhumi airport attempting to enter Thailand from Cambodia with a fake Mexican passport.
