SAMUT PRAKAN – A combined force of over a hundred soldiers and police launched simultaneous raids on 12 homes of influential figures in Samut Prakan Province in another bid to curb criminal activities.

The targets raided included the homes of two Pheu Thai party’s core leaders Worachai Hema, and Pracha Prasobdee, both were former MP’s of the party in Samut Prakan. Pracha was also former deputy minister of Interior.

The crime suppression drive campaign was under the command of Pol Gen Srivara Rangsipramanakul, deputy commissioner of the Royal Thai Police.

Officials said results of the campaign will be made known to the public late this afternoon at a press conference.

A number of soldiers surrounded the home of former Samut Prakarn MP of the Pheu Thai party before dawn Thursday in bid to have him undergo the military “attitude adjustment.”

But Mr Worachai, a key member of the Pheu Thai party, was not in when a group of soldiers came to his home.

Worachai later told the media that he was not in when soldiers forced to open the front gate and pulled off a telephone cord and deleted video footage in his CCTV camera.

He said the soldiers were still surrounding his house.

It was not known why the military wanted to see him but Matichon Online said the former MP earlier strongly criticised the prime minister.
