Phuket DJ Paul ‘DJ Doris Killed in Motorbike Accident

PHUKET – Renowned Phuket DJ Paul ‘DJ Doris’ Norris died in a motorbike accident early on Sunday after his motorcycle was reported to have collided with a taxi in the city.

Mr Norris, 45, lived in Thailand for 11 years and was a popular presenter on radio station Phuket Island Radio.

Phuket Island Radio posted a statement on their Facebook as news of the crash broke.

The statement said: “It is with great sadness that we have to announce that Paul Norris (DJ Doris) was tragically the victim of a fatal road traffic accident in the early hours of Sunday morning.

“Phuket Island Radio extend our deepest sympathy and condolences to his family, loved ones and friends.”

The Foreign Office confirmed the incident and said it was providing support to Mr Norris’ family.

A Foreign Office spokesman said: “We are aware of the death of British national Paul Norris on January 12 in Thailand.

“We are providing consular assistance to the family at this difficult time.” – BBC, Phuket Gazette
