PATTAYA – Police have apprehended and arrested two teenage boys, on Sunday on charges of murdering a transgender woman in a Pattaya hotel and stuffing the body under a bed frame.
Pol Col Apichai said police tracked the suspects from the hotel’s CCTV footage and one of the teens personal details during the check-in process.
Police apprehended the teens, both from Nakhon Ratchasima, at a bus terminal in Muang Chon Buri district around noon and took them for questioning at Muang Pattaya police station. The two boys were questioned by investigators and admitted to murdering the transgender women.
According to the Bangkok Post the 17-year-old admitted to killing Amphon with the help of the 14-year-old after she asked to have sex with him.

The teens told police that Amphon Kongsong became angry when the older of the two teens rejected the transgender woman advances and an argument escalated into a physical fight.
He then strangled her in a fit of rage while the 14-year-old held Amphon’s legs. The two hid the body under the mattress and fled the hotel.
The body of Amphon Kongsong was later found in a room of a five-storey hotel on Soi Buakhao in tambon Nong Phrue of Bang Lamung district on Saturday morning.
The hotel alerted police after a maid noticed blood oozing out from underneath the bed accompanied by a foul stench.
The teens had a record of assault-related cases which were still before the court. Police have initially charged them with premeditated murder and body concealment. Robbery or theft will be considered if there is evidence, he added.
