ANG THONG – Pol Lt Ratakit Khaokaen has reported that Japanese National Mr Kazuo Yoshioka, 80, was killed at his residence in Thailand’s central province of Ang Thong on Monday night, local police said Tuesday.

Kazuo Yoshioka was found with a 10cm slash to his throat, and other stab wounds on his body on the second floor of his two-story house in Wiset Chai Chan district by his 47-year-old Thai wife Tuesday morning, Ang Thong police reported.

According to his Thai wife, Ms Poranee Napadol, she was not at home last night but went to visit her mother who was suffering from kidney sickness.

When she returned home this morning, she found that her house was ransacked and her husband was found lying dead in pool of blood inside the ransacked bedroom.

At the scene, police found several bloody footprints and evidence of a struggle.

A bloodstain was also found in front of an adjacent house that belonged to a younger sister of his Thai girlfriend.

According to a preliminary investigation, the police suspect the husband of the Thai girlfriend’s sister to be the culprit, as he has been missing since Monday night. Investigators are seeking him for questioning.
