Gen. Prayut, Abruptly Transfers Chiang Rai’s Governor Under Section 44

CHIANG RAI – The governor of Chiang Rai, Boonsong Techamaneesathit has been abruptly transferred to the position of special inspector-general at the Prime Minister’s Office by an order of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO) issued under Section 44 of the interim constitution.
The order, which took effect on April 4, was signed by Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha as chairman of the NCPO
Boonsong is one of six Governors to be abruptly transferred by Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha using Section 44 of the interim constitution.
Governor Boonson will be replaced by Narongsak Osotthanakorn, an inspector at the Office of the Permanent Secretary for Interior. Nothing much is known about Boonson’s new replacement according to Facebook Narongsak Osotthanakorn, graduated from The Ohio State University with a Masters in Science.
The five other Governors abruptly transferred under section 44 were, Sak Somboonto of Kanchanaburi, Nathapatchara Suwanprateep of Kalasin, Chokchai Det-amornpan of Phuket, Surapol Sawaengsak of Ratchaburi, and Pasin Komolwich of Sing Buri.
According to the order, the transfers will improve the efficiency of the Interior Ministry and facilitate administrative reform.
