The plantations have over 800,000 banana trees on 2,700 rai of land in Chiang Rai.

CHIANG RAI -A delegation of Chinese traders from Guangzhou, China have visited a banana plantations in Paya Meng Rai district, Chiang Rai province.
 .
Consul for Agriculture, Smith Thamchua who is attached to the Thai Consulate in Guangzhou, China, and Pubate Chulayanont, Chief of Paya Mengrai district led the delegation of Chinese traders from Guangzhou.

.

The plantations have over 800,000 banana trees on 2,700 rai of land with some of the bananas bound for export to China. District chief Pubate Chulayanont said the Thai banana plantations are free from chemicals unlike those grown in Laos by Chinese Companies.

He said that bananas grown in Thailand are safe to eat while exports of all types of Thai fruits from Chiang Rai to China are expected to increase.
