Clean Food, Great Taste Festival Planned for North

The Thai Health Promotion Foundation and the Association of Northern Tourism Federation have been discussing a plan to organize a “Clean food, great taste, and alcohol-free food festival” in the North.

 

CHIANG RAI – Northern region authorities are discussing holding a food festival with an aim to promote delicious and clean food, where no sales of alcohol will be permitted.

The Thai Health Promotion Foundation and the Association of Northern Tourism Federation have been discussing a plan to organize a “Clean food, great taste, and alcohol-free food festival” in the North. The event is aimed at raising awareness on the effects of alcohol and encouraging no-alcohol sales by business operators during the festivals.

The meeting saw 80 attendees including the President of the Association of Northern Tourism Federation and restaurant and tour operators from 17 Northern provinces.

According to Miss Natjaya kaewnui, an event organizer, alcohol is one of the major causes of social problems resulting in violent criminal cases, as aresult of lack of conscience and responsibility. The aim is to bring together networks of business operators willing to refrain from selling alcohol during the province’s food festival.
