Certified Producers in Chiang Rai to Get New Brand Trademark

CHIANG RAI – The Chiang Rai Provincial Commerce Office is preparing to issue the newly-created Chiang Rai Brand trademark for certified producers.
The Chiang Rai Provincial Commerce Office, held a contest in June, urging students and the general public to design a logo on the theme of Chiang Rai Brand. The competition recently concluded with the logo featuring a golden triangle becoming the award winner.
Governor Boonsong Techamaneesatit, chaired a meeting on Thursday, on the PR strategy for the Chiang Rai Brand project. In the initial stages, the trademark will be issued to identify 37 selected items.
Targeting One Tambon One Product (OTOP) operators and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), the project is aimed at promoting products and services of Chiang Rai, setting quality standards for local producers, as well as increasing their competitiveness at both national and regional levels.
Chief of the Chiang Rai Provincial Commerce Office, Santi Wisutsiri said the award-winning logo symbolizes important places in the northern province, namely the Golden Triangle and Doi Nang Non. The latter boasts Chiang Rai’s best-known religious attraction Phra That Doi Tung, He added that the gold color represents beauty, wealth and prosperity.
