Canadian Tim Rooney “Left to Die” in Thailand [VIDEO]

PATTAYA – A Canadian expat believed to be living in Pattaya has accused the Canadian Embassy and the Thai government of “leaving him to die”, while his passport is allegedly being held by Thai officials.

In a seven minute long video posted on YouTube on October 2, Canadian citizen Tim Rooney explains how he was charged with defamation following a dispute with a German man.

Mr Rooney, 52, says in the video his passport is being held by Thai officials while the defamation charge is being appealed by the German man.

Meanwhile he says his health has deteriorated and he urgently needs to go back to Canada to have two operations. He’s diabetic and says if he doesn’t have urgent surgery on his leg, it will require amputation.

Another problem is that he has no money, and says the Canadian Embassy and Thai government are not helping him.

“This story is about how you can be left to die in Thailand with no help from the Canadian Embassy or the Thai government,” he says in the video.

“I have no other choice than to go to the media, that’s what my lawyer suggested,” he said. – See Original Story Here
