Bus Accident in Chaing Mai Leaves 28 Tourists Injured

CHIANG MAI – A total of 28 tourists were injured in a bus accident in northern Thailand’s Chiang Mai province on Wednesday, according to the Chinese Consulate-General in Chiang Mai.

The accident occurred at noon when the bus, carrying 24 Chinese tourists, emerged from the Mae Khao Intersection tunnel and crashed into a van carrying four European passengers on a nearby ring road.

Police found the wrecked and overturned bus and the wrecked van in the middle of road, the injured were then rushed to a nearby hospital, and 19 of them have already checked out of the hospital.

The other six who are badly injured had to cancel their plan to fly back to Sichuan in the evening and remain under treatment.
