Art Bridge Chiang Rai Open’s Exhibition on Kings Childhood

CHIANG RAI – Artists at Art Bridge Chiang Rai have organized an exhibition on the late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s childhood in Switzerland.

Chalalak Bunnag, the director and CEO of Siam Sindtorn, an affiliate of the Crown Property Bureau, along with well-respected Buddhist monk Pramaha Vuttichai Wachiramatee, presided over the opening ceremony for the exhibition following in the late monarch’s footsteps since he was a child living in Switzerland.

The exhibition was arranged by Apirak Panmoonsilp and a group of artists in Chiang Rai province to express their loyalty and appreciation to the late monarch. It is now open at Art Bridge Chiang Rai in Chiang Rai City.

Mr Apirak said he wished to present 50 artworks which he has collected since the last five years.

Famous Chiang Rai local artist Chalermchai Kositpipat, the designer of Wat Rong Khun or the White Temple in Chiang Rai, led a group of artists and participants in the singing of the royal anthem in remembrance to the late His Majesty who was regarded as the Supreme Artist.

The exhibition is now open for the general public until 17 December 2016.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister praised the teachings of HM the late King of Thailand and the late Princess Mother for their work in Chiang Rai Province.

Saying that the success of the Doi Tung Development Project, in Mae Fah Luang, Chiang Rai province is a great example of the 30 long years of their continuous contribution to tribal villages in the north.

The Doi Tung project brought about development, higher living standards, and education to the hill tribe people while at the same time eradicating slash and burn practices and opium cultivation.The prime minister also stressed the importance of education, saying education is equal to a long-lasting career and allows people to support themselves and their families.
