AOT Kicks off Airport Food Safety Campaign at Chiang Rai’s Mae Fah Luang International Airport
CHIANG RAI – Airports of Thailand (AOT) is now working to ensure the safety standards of food and beverages sold at Chiang Rai’s Mae Fah Luang International Airport and AOT’s airports nationwide.Airports of Thailand launched the food safety campaign yesterday in collaboration with the Department of Health, Department of Disease Control, and the Department of Civil Aviation, to raise sanitation standards of food products at Mae Fah Luang International Airport and AOT’s Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Phuket and Hat Yai airports.
Airports of Thailand Vice President for engineering and construction, Wing Commander Suthirawat Suwanawat, said that AOT has consistently educated their airports’ food and beverage operators on food hygiene, and conducted regular inspections to ensure the standard was being upheld.
In addition, the campaign has also been enacted by the Department of Civil Aviation at airports in Udon Thani, Khon Kaen, Ubon Ratchathani and Krabi as well.
Currently, 82 food and drink vendors in Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport have passed the Department of Health inspections, granting them the ‘Clean Food Good Taste’ hallmark to indicate their qualifications in good hygienic standards. –
