Perched up high on the lush hills of Thailand’s border overlooking Myanmar and Laos, Anantara Golden Triangle Resort & Spa offers an escape like no other.

Chiangrai Times – Perched on a hill ridge overlooking the landscapes of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos at the confluence of the Ruak and Mekong Rivers, Anantara Golden Triangle Resort & Spa opens a window to culture-rich journeys, now made even more seamless by the introduction of all inclusive pricing.

Introduced at the beginning of 2012, the resorts’ new all-inclusive pricing includes accommodation, full board meals, mini bar and internet, as well as a visit to the nearby Opium Museum, a choice of daily activities and roundtrip airport transfers.

For every night stayed, guests can choose one of four resort activities that offer a true sense of destination.  Rejuvenate body, mind and spirit at Anantara Spa, where the extensive treatment menu is highlighted by signature indigenous journeys that draw on ancient Thai wellness wisdom and remedial local products. Learn how to become a mahout and enjoy an unforgettable experience at the on-site Elephant Camp. Step behind Thailand’s culinary scene by signing up for a Cooking Class, starting with a guided tour of a colourful local market to pick up the freshest ingredients, before mastering Thai cuisine’s famous four-flavour balance by cooking ancient Lanna recipes.  For the fourth activity option, the Three Country Tour invites guests to bring their passport and an adventurous spirit to experience the distinctive character and traditions of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos, including markets with local delicacies and wonderful souvenirs, visits to temples and legendary historic sites.

Guests can choose between three different types of accommodation. The Deluxe 3 Country View Rooms feature teak floors, rich Thai silks and local design accents which complement the three country views. Boasting an oversized bathtub as well as high tech touches such as an iPod docking station and espresso machine, these rooms blend authenticity with pure indulgence.  Alternatively spread out in a 64 square metre Anantara Suite where the palatial comfort of a separate living space is accompanied by an impressive 20 square metre balcony with a daybed and plump cushions.  While Anantara 3 Country View Suites bestow all of these comforts and more, and also reveal the most magnificent views the resort has to offer.

All-inclusive dining commences with a daily buffet breakfast at Sala Mae Nam restaurant.  For every night stayed, guests enjoy lunch and dinner on a food only basis, and those who opt to stay for two consecutive nights or more receive unlimited complimentary beverages during dinner from the house wine and spirit menu provided.   For the all-inclusive lunches and dinners, guests can choose to dine at any of the resort’s three restaurants and bars.  Sala Mae Nam expresses truly Thai cuisine through regional specialties with a focus on ancient northern recipes, and allows diners to soak up the Golden Triangle’s mystique courtesy of a spacious al fresco terrace.

Baan Dhalia’s creative Italian and Mediterranean masterpieces are savoured with a view of the Mekong Valley and can be paired with selections from the extensive international wine cellar.  The Elephant Bar and Opium Terrace exudes colonial grace, inviting travellers to reminisce the day’s escapades over signature cocktails and an international menu, either in front of a blazing fire or outside by the pool.
