4.8 Earth Quake Recorded in Mae Suai District of Chiang Rai

CHIANG RAI – An earthquake measuring 4.8 on the Richter scale was recorded in Mae Suai district of Chiang Rai province just before dawn Monday, the seismology office of the Meteorological Department reported.

There were no reports of damage or casualties.

The epicenter of the quake was reported to be about six kilometers underground, near the Chiang Mai province border.

It was reported that locals in Chiang Rai and Chiang Mai felt the earthquake, which occurred at 5.32am.
