Tourist Police Launch 24-hour Mobile Police Units

The units will provide an around-the-clock information service and assistance at Thailand’s major tourist sites
BANGKOK – New 24-hour mobile police units are ready to provide both Thai and international tourists with assistance at major tourist attractions in Thailand.
As part of the country’s effort to achieve Bt2.2 trillion in tourism revenue within five years, mobile police units were introduced today at the launch of the Thailand Tourist Police Road Show 2013 in the capital.

The units will provide an around-the-clock information service and assistance at Thailand’s major tourist sites in Ayutthaya, Phuket as well as a famous seaside beach resort of Pattaya in Chon Buri and Hua Hin in Prachuap Khiri Khan throughout September.

 

In preparation for the coming tourism high season, two types of mobile police units — four fully equipped multi-purpose vehicles with CCTV cameras and a two-seat trailer with database system and WiFi service for Thai and international travelers.

 

 It was expected that the mobile units could ensure the safety and good facilities for the tourists.
