Tornado Watch and Flood Watch for Arlington
A tornado watch and a flood watch have been issued for the Washington D.C. region and Arlington this morning.
Weather forecasters predict that today will be a day of strong storms with damaging winds, large hail, and torrential downpours.
“It was forecast that there would be tornadoes across much of the area on Tuesday afternoon until at least 2pm, according to the National Weather Service.” It will also be possible to witness damaging wind gusts and large hail in addition to the threat of tornadoes.”
The tornado risk is expected to end by mid-afternoon, according to forecasters, however, the flood risk is expected to continue through late night, with the watch set to expire at 11 p.m.
