Teens Killed in Western Thailand After Motorcycle They Were Riding Slams into Power Pole
BANGKOK – Two teenagers have been killed after a motorcycle they were riding slammed into a power poll in the western province of Kanchanaburi early Sunday morning.
Pol Lt Col Sukhon Rat-iam, the Kanchanaburi police chief investigator, said the accident occurred at about approximately 2am. Chalermkiat Thonnam, 17, and Soranan Jaijing, 18 were found dead at the scene.
Wipawan Usuwan, a friend of Soranan, told police that the two were transvestites. They were believed to be returning from a concert at a pub in Ratchaburi’s Ban Pong district when the motorcycle they were riding rammed into the power post, she added.
Ms Sompis, Soranan’s mother, said she last saw her son before dawn on Saturday, when he left home on a motorcycle. She did not know his whereabouts until she was informed of his death.
Police were examining the footage of surveillance cameras in the area to establish the cause of the accident.
