Taco Bell's Bringing Back This Old Fan Favorite

(CTN News) – Taco Bell’s Chief Marketing Officer Taylor Montgomery announced some exciting news to Taco Bell fans this morning during a Reddit AMA on Reddit: they are bringing back the Enchirito.

This popular burrito-and-enchilada combination was first introduced to the public in the early 1970s, but was discontinued in 2013.

A couple of weeks after fans voted for the Enchirito to return to Taco Bell menus, the Enchirito briefly returned to Taco Bell menus last November, but it only lasted a couple of weeks.

It has been confirmed for the first time publicly by Montgomery through Reddit that the game will return very soon for a limited period of time.

As part of the Volcano Menu release, the Taco Bell CMO shared with me that the Volcano Burrito, the Volcano Taco, and the Lava Sauce will be returned on June 29 (June 27 for rewards members).

The Volcano Burrito was created as a promotional item in 1995 to promote the movie Congo starring Laura Linney, which was releasing at the time.

The burrito consists of ground beef, rice, cheese, sour cream and crushed nachos inside a flour tortilla with “Lava Sauce,” or spicy nacho cheese that is stuffed inside the flour tortilla.

One commenter pleaded for Taco Bell to make Nacho Fries permanent in response to Montgomery’s response, which read, “This is something we are working on and hope to be able to do as soon as possible.”

Furthermore, he also shared his personal favorite Taco Bell menu hack: re-creating the discontinued Double Decker Taco by ordering a soft taco filled with refried beans and a crunchy taco, then wrapping the bean-filled tortilla around the crunchy taco.

A lawsuit has been filed by Taco Bell, the fast food chain that owns the trademark for “Taco Tuesday”, in an attempt to revoke it from Taco John’s, which owns the trademark.

In response to this decision, Montgomery wrote on Reddit that “Taco Tuesday is a common term that people don’t usually associate with any particular restaurant.

It’s not even a trademark at all, so it cannot be owned by any one person or company.”.

The goal is to liberate Taco Tuesday for everyone who makes, sells, eats, and celebrates tacos, so that everyone who makes, sells, eats, and celebrates tacos can use it freely. Because tacos win, we all win.”
