Starbucks Thailand Offers Mobile App with “My Starbucks Rewards”

 

CHIANG RAI – Starbucks customers in Chiang Rai and at any of the 215 Starbucks stores across Thailand, can now conveniently pay for purchases using a phone app.

Murray Darling, Managing director of Starbucks Coffee (Thailand) Co. said in addition to being able to pay through your phone , the app allows users to earn stars with the “My Starbucks Rewards” loyalty program, find a nearby store, explore the Starbucks portfolio of whole-bean coffees, and stay up-to-date on Starbucks food and beverage news.

The phone app will become available for download on Monday on Android and Apple iOS operating systems.

“We always aim to exceed our customers’ expectations and provide them new, innovative ways to experience our brand. With Starbucks Thailand, we are proud to deliver on this promise to customers in Thailand with a remarkable digital innovation that is the first for Thailand’s coffee industry,” Murray Darling said.

According to International Data Corporation, the smartphone penetration rate in Thailand was estimated at 37.7 per cent last year.

However, this figure is expected to increase to 50 per cent of the total Thai population this year.

With the new mobile app, members of the My Starbucks Rewards programme now can access their registered Starbucks Cards and use the mobile payment capability along with the store locator. My Starbucks Rewards, which launched in Thailand in March last year, currently has more than 450,000 registered members in the country.

To pay with the Starbucks Thailand app in-store, customers can simply click the “Touch to Pay” button on their mobile device to generate a barcode to scan, making payment a quick and easy process.

Furthermore, Starbucks is providing a special offer for users who download the Starbucks Thailand mobile application. Purchase of any Starbucks handcrafted beverage at any of its stores from March 19 to 31 will entitle them to a free VIA Latte sachet
