BANGKOK – A Singaporean National, Mr Wu Zhiming, has died after he fell from an overhead pedestrian bridge and was hit by a car on Tuesday (Dec 22).

Pol Lt Col Saksith Thanakitpairoj, an investigation inspector of tourist police, said the Singaporean tourist had traveled to Chum Phae on Monday to meet his Thai girlfriend, who was a resident of tambon Khuariang.

The pair had become involved in a heated argument and the woman drove off alone in her car towards Bangkok, leaving the man behind, Pol Lt Col Saksith said.

Police thought it likely the man had been upset at his failure to repair his relationship with the woman and this may have led him to take his own life.

Its driver told the Bangkok Post that he saw a man suddenly fall from the bridge, but was not able to avoid hitting him.

A passport and air tickets were found on Mr Wu’s body, eyewitnesses have been questioned by Thai police.
