NJ's American Dream Mall Evacuated On Black Friday Due To Bomb Threat.

(CTN News) – According to the New Jersey State Police, the American Dream mall in New Jersey, which is the second largest mall in the country, was evacuated shortly after opening on Black Friday due to a bomb threat.

This threat was later shown to be unfounded. At approximately 7:13 a.m. ET, a person alerted the police about a bomb inside the American Dream mall, leading to the evacuation of the shopping center. The New Jersey State Police, along with their bomb and K-9 units, thoroughly searched the mall for any explosive devices, but none were found.

The American Dream was reopened at around 9:15 a.m. for shoppers and retail workers. The spokesperson for the police stated that the mall has been declared safe and will resume normal operations.

The inquiry into the incident is still in progress, and there are presently no further particulars accessible.

American Dream mall was closed this morning due to a non-credible threat.

The safety of our employees and guests is our top priority, and we took this precautionary measure out of an abundance of caution. The American Dream has since reopened and we are excited to welcome shoppers for a safe and joyful holiday season.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy also posted about the evacuation on social media, urging everyone to follow instructions from law enforcement and exit the mall safely. We will continue to be vigilant in ensuring the safety of all visitors during this holiday season.

The evacuation came on the biggest shopping day of the year when many American Dream are expected to flood malls across the country to find the best holiday deals. The shopping holiday presents unique risks for retailers because it attracts a large number of people.

In previous years, fights broke out between customers, others were also injured during robberies. Compounding the problem is a nationwide increase in mass shootings that have occurred at several grocery stores and other retail locations, such as Walmart.
