Man Arrested with 120,000 Methamphetamine in Mae Saruay District Chiang Rai

Police checkpoint in tambon Padad of Mae Saruay district of Chiang Rai province

CHIANG RAI – Suchart Sae Mua a Hmong tribesman has been arrested by Chiang Rai police on charges of possessing 120,000 methamphetamine pillsĀ  on Sunday.

Suchart Sae Mua, 33, was traveling in a pickup truck on the Mae Saruay-Fang Road when he was stopped at a police checkpoint in tambon Padad of Mae Saruay district of Chiang Rai province.

Police searched his vehicle and found 120,000 methamphetamine pills, or yaba, hidden inside.

Mr Suchart told the Chiang Rai police that he was paid 400,000 baht, of which 10,000 baht was paid in advance, to deliver the illegal drugs to a client in the central province of Ayutthaya.
