ALEPPO – Muslim extremests from the Islamists of Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, previously known as Nusra Front, attacked and burned buses that were assigned to evacuate wounded and ill people from the besieged villages of Kefraya and al-Foua in Syria’s Aleppo Governorate on Sunday.
The Extremists, Syrian and Russian forces have been fighting, attacked and burned at least five buses that were heading to the besieged villages in Aleppo countryside to evacuate civilians affected by the conflict,” informed local sources told ARA News.
In the meantime, Syrian rebel factions in Aleppo condemned the attack.
Last Tuesday, Syrian rebel groups in Aleppo agreed to withdraw from the besieged eastern part of the war-ravaged city on Tuesday evening, after a ceasefire agreement was reached.
The rebel resistance ended after the armed opposition groups suffered heavy losses under siege and bombardment by the Syrian Army forces, allied militias and the Russian Air Force.
“The battle for Aleppo has ended with a victory for the regime of President Bashar al-Assad and Russia,” human rights activist Louay al-Halabi told ARA News at the time.
This comes after years of fighting that claimed lives of tens of thousands in the Syrian city of Aleppo.
