CHIANGRAI – The Meteorological Department warned residents in the North and Northeast to brace for heavy rains during the next few days.  The weather bureau said that strong westerly winds from Myanmar will prevail over the upper parts of Thailand during March 7-9, bringing isolated thundershowers.

Recent tests also found the level of particulates smaller than 10 microns (PM10) in the northern region has dropped to 24-48 micrograms per cubic meter.

In the East and the South, an eastern monsoon covering the regions is subsiding. Scattered rains can still be expected in southern provinces near the Gulf of Thailand.

Meanwhile, the average temperature in the capital is set to rise to between34 and 35 degrees Celsius after experiencing bouts of rain in the past few days.
