CHIANG RAI – Thick fog in Chiang Rai has caused poor visibility and affected flights at the province’s Mae Fah Luang Airport.

Director of Mae Fah Luang Airport Damrong Khlong-akkhara said due to dense fog, visibility was just 200 meters on Sunday and flights were delayed. The airport increased safety measures during take-offs and landings while keeping a close watch on the weather, the director said.

Take-offs and landings at Mae Fah Luang Airport are now delayed for 1-2 hours. Despite the dense fog, the weather in Chiang Rai is still cold with the lowest temperature around 13 degrees Celsius.
