First Spy Shots Of Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Development Vehicle

(CTN News) – Spy photographers have revealed what they believe is a test mule for the next-gen Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, which will replace the current Mustang Shelby GT500.

It is a heavily modified version of the new model that will be available in the near future.

In the front of the vehicle, there is a new fascia that has styling that is somewhat similar to that on the Dark Horse model. In addition to the separations in the upper grille, there are also separations in the mean trim. Tires are pushed beyond the wheel wells because of a wider front track.

In order to cover them, the production vehicle would have wider fenders to ensure they are covered. Compared to the normal side sills, the lower sills appear to be a little wider.

It appears that the rear wheels are made of carbon fiber. It has a black style with seven spokes on the front wheels.

A quad exhaust tip is located at the back of the vehicle. As a result of the design, there is a slight difference between the inner and outer outlets.

A Mustang convertible was used as a basis for the modifications that were made to this development vehicle. According to this observation, Ford may be planning to offer a droptop version of the hotter model as a drop top option.

As of right now, it is unclear when this new hotter Mustang will be unveiled. Since the initial 2024 models begin arriving in dealerships later in the year, we don’t expect to see them this year either.

There is a great deal of demand for them, so Ford has to fulfill it before adding more variants to the lineup.

At launch, the Dark Horse is the top-of-the-line Mustang in the Mustang range. Initially, it is priced at $59,565 after a $1,595 destination fee is applied.

As for the powertrain, this car is powered by a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 engine that has been tuned to produce 500 horsepower and 418 pound-feet of torque. Among the transmission choices available, there are a six-speed manual or a ten-speed automatic transmission.

A 19-inch, single-piece carbon-fiber wheel that weighs 37 percent less than the standard one is available with this model as an option.

There has been a hint from Ford’s boss Jim Farley in a tweet about the possibility of building a road-going version of the Mustang GT3 race car.

It is likely that if the model does actually make it into production, it will be a track-oriented model with aggressive bodywork such as a big front splitter, extractors on the hood, a rear diffuser, and a big wing.

There is also a good chance that upgrades to the suspension and braking system will be included in the package.
