CHON BURI – Finnish National Timo Kalevi Kantisila died instantly after laying down in front of a moving tour bus in Jomtien Beach, police speculate the incident an apparent suicide.

Timo Kalevi Kantisila, 59, suffered a crushed skull and massive trauma in the March 2 incident outside the Jomtien Palm Beach Hotel.

Nattawut Kaewsuk, the 42-year-old driver of the Kimhor Tour coach, said he was returning 10 Russian tourists from Koh Chang to the Pattaya Park Hotel when suddenly he saw Kantisila standing in the road. Before he could stop, he saw the Finn lay down to his death.

The victim was found with only 29 baht in his pockets, leading to speculation he committed suicide due to stress over his finances.
