The Meteorological Department has reported that a high pressure cell from China still covers most parts of the North, and many provinces experience a sharp drop in temperature. The temperature has plummeted to only 8 degrees at the top of Chiang Mai’s Doi Inthanon Mountain.

According to local weather offices, Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son, Chiang Rai and Nan are experiencing an average temperature of 16-20 degree.

Tropical storm Nari is meanwhile heading towards the Philippines’s Luzon island. Thai tourists traveling to the region are advised to closely follow weather updates.
