Apirak Worawong shined despite Beetles’ disappointing result

CHIANG RAI – The Sisaket FC were disappointed in their last TPL fixture as they lost  1-0 to the “Hello” TOT SC on the midweek clash and, in the ninth fixture of the season, they faced the “Beetles” Chiang Rai United at home.

Both teams fought well in the first half, pressuring in midfield and were deadly in attacks. However, they couldn’t turn their chances into the scoreline and ended the halftime with just a draw.

Despite a not so impressive first half performance, the Dangerous Kouprey were better in the second half and had a chance that nearly paid off, Nigerian attacker Adefolarin Durosinmi managed to gain a penalty for the home side.

However, the Thai midfielder Jakkapong Somboon, who stood up to take the spot, couldn’t get it past the opponent’s youngster goalkeeper Apirak Worawong who brilliantly saved the ball. The full time whistle was about to be blown, but in the last minute of the game, Sisaket FC salvaged a very important goal from Adefolarin Durosinmi’s late winner.

As a result, Sisaket FC remained unbeaten at home soil and moved up to tenth place of the table with 12 points from nine games and they will have to give some credit to Adefolarin Durosinmi for his superb goal and all the dangerous runs he made throughout the game, which included him in this week’s TPL Best XI (see full list here). And despite Chiang Rai United not getting a draw, but an excellent save from Apirak Worawong unarguably named him as Goal Thailand’s latest Young Player of Week.
