Bus Destined for Phuket Crashes Injuring 25, Driver Flees Scene

PHUKET – Pol Capt Prasert Jamsai, a duty officer at the Plai Phraya police station has reported that 25 passengers were injured, one seriously, when a bus travelling from Bangkok to Phuket overturned in Krabi on Saturday morning.

Pol Capt Prasert Jamsai, said the bus, carrying 33 passengers, lost control and overturned at kilometer maker 17 on Khao Tor-Thap Put Road in Plai Phraya district of Krabi around 6.30am on Saturday.

The 25 injured passengers, were taken to the Thap Put and Plai Phraya hospitals.

The bus belongs to Phuket Central Tour Co. Police said they were seeking driver Wichit Boonsung, who was believed to have fallen asleep at the wheel and fled the scene after the crash.
