Bus Crashes in Southern Thailand Injuring 15 Tourists
SURAT THANI – 15 foreigners tourists were have been injured, four seriously, when thetour bus they were riding in plunged into a roadside ditch and overturned about 5.30am on Wednesday.
Pol Capt Pichit Khaosuwan reported that the bus was travelling from Bangkok to Krabi. The driver lost control during heavy rain and it veered off the road and into the ditch.
The 15 foreign passengers, five men and 10 women, were trapped in the wreck and had to be helped out by rescue workers. The four seriously hurt passengers were from Bulgaria, Austria and the UK, the remaining passengers sustained minor injuries and were discharged from the hospital.
Police said they are investigating and no charges have been laid against the driver Pichet Arthong, 45
