American Nicolas ‘Nick’ Javier Solis Killed on Imact with Beer Truck in Phuket
PHUKET – American Nicolas ‘Nick’ Javier Solis an English teacher working in Phuket, was killed instantly when the motorcycle he was driving collided with a six-wheeled beer truck at an intersection in Rawai Phuket .
The accident happened about 10 am at an intersection along Wiset Road near the Phuket Raumjai Rescue Foundation building.
Nicolas’s green Honda Click was heading south from Chalong, crossed Viset Road and crashed head on into the front of the Chang beer truck.
The motorcycle he was riding was smashed to pieces and his safety helmet crushed. It appeared the motorcycle had crossed to the wrong side of the road, into the truck’s path. Nicolas Solis 27, died at the scene from severe head injuries.
The driver of the beer truck was injured and has been taken to Vachira Phuket Hospital in Phuket City in a serious condition.
