Amazing Time Lapse Views of Chiang Rai By Saengthit Kamlangchai – [Video]

 

CHIANG RAI – Saengthit Kamlangchai a Time-lapse photographer has just posted his latest project, this time from a wide variety of locations in Chiang Rai province. As usual, he has given us a description of how he made his film.

Saengthit Kamlangchai is a young Thai film-maker specialising in time-lapse videos. We have already featured three of his videos from three different locations, Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket and, in each case, Saengthit has described the production process from start to finish. Today, he does the same with his just released video from Chiang Rai province in the North.

Saengthit Kamlangchai showcased the true beauties of Chiang Rai Province using the Time Lapse cinematography. I thus traveled to nearly all the landmarks of Chiang Rai Province and some interesting places that made it into the film that were discovered by accident .

Watch closely and you will see that he uses two basic techniques, time-lapse in which still pictures of the same scene are taken every few seconds and hyper-lapse in which the camera shifts position during the shooting.

Time-lapse videos are extremely time-consuming to make. For his latest, a 5-minute tour of Chiang Rai province, Sangthit says he took spent about 20 days filming, taking 30,000 photos – 12,900 of which were used in the final product. -By Terry Fredrickson

A Time Lapse Cinematography of Chiang Rai (เชียงราย) Province

Chiang Rai Province, located at the northernmost part of Thailand, is one unique land. The sincere kindness of its people and vast beauties of its distinct landscapes, I feel, are the very essence of Chiang Rai Province.

The little thing called “help” seems to always be there when it is needed or even better, it sometimes comes as a surprise and unasked for, which certainly left a lasting impression on me. Simply, no matter how much more beautiful I could have made this film to be, it can never match the pure sincerity of the hearts I felt in those people. To me, that’s what truly defies the soul of their community, more than how much beauties our mother nature bestows upon their land.

Overall, this film is about 500 hours of journey through all the landmarks of Chiang Rai Province, encapsulated into a 5 mins cinematography of pure beauty, from a perspective of one person. – Saengthit Kamlangchai
