BANGKOK – Pol Lt Col Pattarut Phrasopha, a duty officer at Huai Khwang police station has reported that a 35-year-old Japanese man fell to his death from a high-rise condominium building in Bangkok’s Huai Khwang district late Monday night.

The body of the man, about 170-175 meters tall, was found on the ground in front of the 25-storey Lumpini Place Condo Ville building on Rama IX Road, Pol Lt Col Pattarut Phrasopha told the Bangkok Post.

The Japanese national, whose name was withheld, was wearing only a T-shirt and shorts and suffered a fractured skull, broken left ankle and broken arms in the fall, Thai media reported.

Police inspected his room on the 16th floor of the building and found a farewell letter, written in Japanese, complaining about his Thai wife. There were no traces of a struggle in the room.

The officers believed the victim, who worked as a truck salesman, might have quarreled with his wife and then committed suicide. They would call her in for questioning, Pol Lt Col Pattarut said.
