21 Year Old Australian Plunges to Death, Family Seeks Answers
PHUKET – Sebastian Eric Faulkner a 21 year old Australian tourist has died after plunging from the ninth floor of the Andaman Beach Suites Hotel in the early hours of New Year’s Day.

Andaman Beach Suites Hotel is located in Patong BeachHe was found with severe injuries including a fractured skull before being taken to nearby Patong Hospital. He was then moved to Bangkok Hospital, where he later died.
Authorities said Mr Faulkner sought medical assistance for hallucinations from Patong Hospital on December 30, but “left without anyone noticing”.
He had been traveling with friends, who are assisting authorities with their inquiries.
It is believed his friends did not know Mr Faulkner’s whereabouts until after his death, the reports said.
His older cousin Ben Faulkner today posted a message on his Facebook page about the death.
“Seb Faulkner it’s like a nightmare I can’t wake up from! I have memories of having a beer with you, having many a laugh with you & teasing you as your older & dramatically less talented cousin – no one can ever take them away from me – they will be with me forever mate!,” he
A representative from his workplace, ANL Shipping, said Mr Faulkner was due to complete a 12-month co-op position at the company on 25 January.
“I have handled the news with the other co-ops because they were very close knit friends and they are all in shock at the moment,” the spokeswoman said.
“They heard on Facebook … we are in shock, he was a very good young person and will be very sadly missed I must admit…they are all very devastated about the news.”
She said Mr Faulkner had been due to return to uni to complete his degree this year after a 12-month training role at the company.
It is understood he is a former student of St Bede’s College in Mentone and studied at Australian Catholic University.
The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade confirmed it is providing consular assistance to Mr Faulkner’s family.
