CHIANG MAI – Pol Maj Gen Mondri Sambunnanon, Superintendent of Phu Ping Ratchaniwet Police Station told reporters today that Officers from Phu Ping Ratchaniwet Police Station discovered the body of 60-year-old Swiss National Daniel Rudolf.
Pol Maj Gen Mondri Sambunnanon, told local media Daniel Rudolf had been stabbed then hung, a telephone cable was tied around his neck; the other end had been attached to the bannister.
A brief medical examination estimated that Mr Rudolf had been dead for not more than 24 hours prior being discovered.
Police questioned Mr Rudolf’s neighbour who told officers that the Swiss man had been living in the house alone for about six years. On Sunday, he reportedly saw Mr Rudolf for the last time outside of his house reading a book.
After not seeing him for two days, the neighbour went up to his house. He then found out that Mr Rudolf had been brutally murdered.
Pol Maj Gen Mondri Sambunnanon said this is an obvious murder case.
Even though the injuries to his body suggest that he had become a victim of a crime, police did not find any signs of a struggle at the scene. A post-mortem examination will help officials determine how Daniel Rudolf had died.
