Thai Police Investigate Jumping Death of Chinese Woman in Bangkok
BANGKOK – Metro Police in Bangkok are investigating the death of a Chinese tourist who aparently fell from a Bangkok hotel Thursday morning the Daily News reported today.
Pol Col Bpatinawit Senabplaeng an investigator from Police Station said the body of 46-year-old Chinese tourist Ms Liang Fang was found dead in a pool of blood on a concrete floor nex to the hotel’s car park.
Rescue workers from Poh Teck Tung Foundation were called to the Hotel on Soi Ratchadaphisek 12 at around 6:00 early Thursday morning.
Mrs Liang had been on a group tour that had checked into the hotel in Bangkok’s Huang Khwang district the previous night.
Investigators questioned her husband who said they both went to bed early and when he woke up at around 6:00 early the next morning, his wife was nowhere to be found, prompting him and other hotel employees to search the hotel. They quickly found her body lying dead on a concrete path. Police presume she fell from their balcony on 8th floor.
Her husband told police his wife had been suffering from a neurosis for several years and her symptoms intensified during her stay. Telling investigators that her condition must have worsened overnight causing her to impulsively end her life by jumping from the 8th floor of building.
Police said they would examine security camera footage during their investigation.
Officials have informed the Chinese Embassy in Bangkok about the death, who said they are assisting the victim’s family in transporting her body back to China.
A thorough examination of the body was scheduled at a local government hospital in Bangkok.
