CHIANG RAI -  Mae Fah Luang international airport director Itthiphol Boonari, organized a seminar to push forward a plan to connect an Upper North route with an Andaman flight route.

Director Itthiphol Boonari said it was designed to push for the connection between the Upper North route and the Andaman flight route to accommodate airline passengers from Upper Mekong sub-region and China.

The seminar, the opening ceremony for which was presided by Chiang Rai provincial governor Boonsong Techamanee, was attended by Chiang Rai Chamber of Commerce, Chiang Rai Tourism Industry Council, Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Chiang Rai Office, Chiang Rai Provincial Office of Tourism and Sport, AirAsia’s Chiang Rai station and other airline operators in the northern province.
