Four Year Old Girl Abducted from Thai Hospital, Found Naked in Forest
KANCHANABURI – Sgt Maj Boonlert Chuchuen, of the veterinary and agriculture office has found a four-year-old Myanmar girl who was abducted from Paholpolpayuhasena Hospital in Kanchanaburi’s Muang district late Thursday night.
The Bangkok Post reported that Sgt Maj Boonlert Chuchuen, found the young girl around 7.10am on Friday when he was going to work, she just walked naked out of a forest.
She emerged from a roadside forest in Muang district without clothes and with injuries and severe bruising on her body. The girl had swellings on her head, mouth injuries and bruises over her body. Blood stains were also found on her fingers.
Sgt Maj Boonlert immediately called police who took her to a hospital for an examination.
Police and soldiers on Friday searched the forest for the kidnapper, suspected to be hiding in the area.
The girl’s mother reported to Muang district police around midnight that her daughter had been abducted from Paholpolpayuhasena Hospital, where she and her three young children had gone to visit their sick grandfather.
Police said the hospital’s closed circuit television cameras had footage showing a man aged 25-30 years taking the girl from the waiting area for patients’ relatives. Her mother was sleeping at the time the girl was abducted.
The mother said on Friday that she woke up about midnight and found her daughter had disappeared. She immediately alerted hospital staff to help find her daughter, but there was no sign of her.
Police said later they had found a pair of yellow shorts and a red T-shirt the girl had been wearing in the roadside forest. Pubic hair was found on the girl’s pants, but an initial health check found no traces of rape. They would take the girl for a more thorough medical examination.
Pol Col Somsak Suwanchim, a senior police investigator at Muang police district, said investigators reported that the suspect had sat near the girl for almost 30 minutes before kidnapping her.
Some people in the waiting room could see the man’s face clearly and police would seek their cooperation in preparing a sketch of the suspect.
