Earthquake of 4.4 Magnitude Strikes Chiang Rai’s Phan District again Thursday

CHIANG RAI  – An Earthquake of 4.4 magnitude struck Chiang Rai’s Phan district again Thursday at the depth of nine kilometers, the National Disaster Warning Center said.

It said the quake with epicenter in Phan district happened at 00.23 a.m. Thursday.

It is the fourth quake in less than 10 days that had its epicenter in Phan district.

The strongest ever earthquake of a magnitude of 6.3 on the Richter scale struck Phan and nearby districts on May 5, killing one person and wounding several others.

The quake also damaged more than 8,000 homes, temples, government offices.

The center said that until Thursday since the 6.3 magnitude quake more than 800 aftershocks were recorded
